DAY 1 SEFERIHISAR-SAMOS – VATHI CITY CENTRE TOUR
In the morning at 06:45, we check in and complete passport procedures at the Seferihisar Teos Marina İdo Ferry office. At 08:00, we set off on our catamaran heading towards Vathi, the main town of Samos. After a 1-hour ferry ride, we arrive in Vathi. After completing passport and check-in procedures, we meet our local guide and begin our Vathi City Centre Tour. We start our walking tour along the beautiful Sofouli promenade, which stretches from one end of Vathi to the other. During our tour, we first see the only Catholic church on the island, symbolizing the ascension of the Virgin Mary, and receive information from our guide. Then we arrive at the other known as Pythagoras square, where the Lion statue, erected as a monument of freedom and heroism, is located; we take a moment for information and photos. Next, we visit the Saint Nikolaos Church, which has the oldest and most magnificent religious engravings in the city. After that, we head to the city park, home to the Vathi Archaeological Museum, the largest and most beautiful museum on Samos island. Guests wishing to do so can visit the museum for a small fee. After our free time there, we visit Vathi’s famous pastry shop to taste its delicious sweets and take a coffee break, while giving free time at Pythagoras square. Guests who wish can stroll through the narrow streets with blue and white houses and spend time in souvenir shops and boutiques. After our city tour, we return to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 2 MIDDLE AND SOUTH ISLAND TOUR-PANAGIA SPLIANI MONASTERY- PYTHAGORION-KUMARADEI CERAMIC VILLAGE-LIDL-VATHI - TAVERN NIGHT
After breakfast at our hotel, we meet with our guide and start our middle and south island tour with our bus. Leaving behind Vathi, we stop for a photo opportunity at the Agios Irini church to see the city panoramically. We proceed to Pythagorion, one of the most beautiful seaside towns on the island, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1992. Before reaching Pythagorion, we visit Panagia Spiliani Monastery, which is located 125 meters above sea level and where we can see its view panoramically. In the monastery, we also see the Virgin Mary Cave, which contains a small chapel. After our visit to the monastery, we arrive at Pythagorion, which was formerly known as Tigani (Pan) and is named after the famous mathematician Pythagoras, his birthplace. After hearing from our guide about the statue of Pythagoras, we have free time for lunch and shopping here. You can try fresh seafood at the restaurants along the coast, swim, or shop for local products at the shops on the market street. After our free time, we board the bus and head to Kumaradei village, known for its famous Just Cup (Dikea Cup) and ceramics. We visit the ceramics workshop and watch the production of this cup. After our shopping and coffee break here, we go to the LIDL supermarket to do some shopping. After our free shopping time, we return to our hotel in Vathi. At the time our guide sets, we meet in the hotel lobby and join our live music Greek tavern. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 3 WEST AND EAST ISLAND TOUR-KOKKARI-KARLOVASI-POTAMI WATERFALLS - VATHI PORT
After breakfast at our hotel, we depart and head for Kokkari harbor village, which has preserved its traditional form with small houses and flower-filled paths. Located on a peninsula that climbs to the top with buildings, with a small harbor on one side and a magnificent pebble beach on the other, we take a coffee break in Kokkari and then proceed to Calma Bay, one of the island's most beautiful bays. After our free time here, we continue past the magnificent bays of Agios Konstantinos and Avlakia, stopping at a photo opportunity spot with Aya Nikolas Church to admire the beautiful view of Potami Beach, which is one of the most beautiful beaches in Karlovasi. After passing the Potami Waterfall, we take a photo stop and then enjoy our free time for coffee along the quiet but equally impressive shoreline of Karlovasi, where the remains of the production facilities used during the Ottoman era, known for their Tabakhanes, are located. We then head towards Agios Konstantinos, located at the foot of Manolates village, known for its location and refined cuisine. After our free time for lunch here, we head back and go to Vathi Port to catch our ferry. After completing passport and customs procedures, we board our catamaran belonging to the İdo company, setting off at 17:00 towards Seferihisar. After a 1-hour journey, we arrive in Seferihisar. We bid farewell until we meet again on another İzmir Port Travel trip.
