Tour Program
We are setting off to Samos at 08:15 after the passport procedures, which will begin 1 hour and 30 minutes before departure from Kuşadası Egeport Port.
After approximately 45-60 minutes of travel, we arrive in Vathi, complete our customs procedures, and board our vehicle to explore the capital city of Vathi, which hosts many monumental buildings.
In Vathi, we first see the structures along the promenade named Sofouli. The first of these is the Santa Maria, the only Catholic Church on the island. We then see the Samos Courthouse, which occupies Neoclassical buildings, and the Samos Public Library, which even has books dating back to the 16th century. We also visit the central Pythagora Square located in the heart of Vathi, the marble Lion Statue symbolizing independence in the square, and the National Bank of Greece, which showcases all the beauties of Neoclassical architecture. We also see the statue of Themistocles Sofoulis, who served as the Prime Minister of Greece for three terms and made significant contributions to Samos archaeology, while receiving information from our guide.
Next, we continue our tour to Pythagorio, the birthplace of the famous mathematician Pythagoras, known for its beautiful beaches in the Aegean Sea. Upon arriving in Pythagorio, you can take a lovely walk along the charming waterfront and capture wonderful photos at the Pythagoras Monument. During our short break in Pythagorio, you can also buy local wines and varieties unique to Samos.
After our visit to Pythagorio, we continue our journey to Mytilini, a green mountain village. In Mytilini, we visit a shop selling Samos's famous honey, where we have the chance to taste honey and complete our shopping.
After enjoying pleasant moments in Mytilini, we head towards Kokkari. We explore the streets of Kokkari, which bears traces of Mykonos with its taverns and unique architecture, and have our lunch at a seaside tavern.
After our lunch, we board our vehicle to start our return journey to Samos Port. On the way to Vathy, we make a short shopping stop at the famous Lidl supermarket, and then we begin our return journey to Vathi. Upon reaching Vathi, we complete our customs procedures and, after a delightful day, take our places on the ferry as we bid farewell to Samos, famous for its unique history, wine, philosophers, blue sea, and green forests, and start our journey back to Kuşadası. After arriving in Kuşadası, we bid farewell until our next tour.
